HP PhotoSmart 935 5.3MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom

#1: HP PhotoSmart 935 5.3MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom Reviews!

This is the best camera I've owned...I regret I didn't use all the features it has and in fact I got a newer "mini" and it doesn't compare to my 935. Everytime I needed for a quick shot, and if the batteries were dead I'd slap in new ones not to find out on my new camera were dead and I need to recharge them. At the 5.3 mega pixcels it is great for most applications in that I'm not going to make giant posters but for 8 and half by 11 pictures are phenominal. I'm sure after researching the camera, I'll appreciate it's features....

It's very inexpensive - David Salisbury -
After reading through a lot of the reviews here I have to chime in. I have owned this model now for 2 years, having said that I have taken hundreds of pictures with it, many of these were very good and will be cherished. This is a great little camera for still photo's, let me repeat STILL photo's. It does a fantastic job of it, if you want to take photo's quickly (as in turn on and take a pic) forget it, it takes as long to turn on as Martha Stuart on dirty sheets. The flash recharge time isn't good so if you plan on taking several pics indoors in short order... forget it.
As I have put here it looks like a mixed bag of feelings, on the one hand I have kept it and used it for hundreds of photo's, on the other I have missed/deleted hundreds because of the slightest movement on my part or the slightest movement of the object. I'm a patient man but I have steadily grown to hate this camera over 2 years. I have always had a higher priority than buying a new camera. As I get older I would rather not put up with some things and this is one I chose to put up with no longer.

I hope this helps someone see it for what it is, fantastic for shooting stills, yet terrible for all around use. And please these cameras are horrific with standard batteries, use energizer e2 lithium you will see an difference beyond belief in the number of pics you can take (and they are lighter). IMHO

This was my first digital camera and it's because of this camera that I stuck with HP when upgrading. It's a very good point and shoot camera with enough modes and settings to satisfy those who like fiddling with such things.

Many of the reviews here complain about battery life. Turn off the live display, you don't need it anyway since the viewfinder is accurate. I never got *fewer* than 60 pictures (sometimes more) in two star mode with the live display off, on a pair of 1800 mAh rechargeables. I also had a big difference when I changed the auto shutoff to a shorter time period.

Also, yes, you need a memory card -- but what digital camera doesn't? I had a 64 MB card with mine and only once completely used the card up.

Shutter speed is a little slower than average for the class but fine for everything except action shots. Lens glass is by Pentax and is good quality. No, you won't get digital SLR quality from this camera, but at <0 it's a great deal.

HP PhotoSmart 735 3.2MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom Features

  • 3.2 megapixel sensor captures enough detail to create photo-quality 8 x 10 prints and medium-quality prints up to 11 x 14
  • 3x optical and 5x digital (15x total) zoom lens with autofocus
  • HP's Instant Share features lets you designate image destination (e-mail or printer)
  • 16 MB internal memory; compatible with Secure Digital and MMC memory cards
  • Powered by 2 AA batteries (alkalines included, rechargeables recommended); connects to PCs and Macs via USB 1.1

A Decent Snapshot Camera, but Buy a Newer One - amazon customer -
I have owned this camera for almost 3 years now, and it is the sturdiest and most reliable one that I have had. Once, I dropped it from 5 feet onto a sidewalk and it didn't even get a scratch. The outdoor picture quality is excellent, as well as the macro mode, but if you have shaky hands (like me), you will have a ton of blurry pics. The screen just can't compete with new cameras, being too small and dim to see outdoors. The flash is weak, but if you know how to use aperture and ISO settings, indoor shots will turn out pretty good. Personally, I think buyers would be better off buying one of HP's new R-series cameras (R717, R817, etc). While this camera is cheap and pretty reliable, the newer models have much more features and are still around 0-0.

Sony DSCU20 Cyber-shot 2MP Digital Camera (Silver)+B2

#1: Sony DSCU20 Cyber-shot 2MP Digital Camera (Silver)+B2 Reviews!

>>>>See More Details & Check Price Now!<<<<<

Though I've not had experience with this U-20, I can comment on its predecessor, the U-10, which is a 1.3 megapixel version of this camera.

When our son in law was deployed to Iraq in Feb. 2003, I wanted to send a digital camera with him. It needed to be very small and lightweight, but also needed to withstand the rigors of life in a fox hole. The Sony Cybershot DCS U-10 really came through! When he returned 8 months later the camera had been dropped many times and had a lot of scratches and dents. It was very dusty and gritty and even the memory card inside felt gritty. I was afraid the data on the memory card wouldn't be readable. But also, the little Sony had takin a lickin and kept on clickin! The pictures were very very good for a 1.3 megapixel. The photos taken inside the tents were a tad dark because the flash only goes about 6 feet, but overall they were good. The photos taken outside were wonderful. If I had to send another camera off to the Iraqi desert, I'd stick with the Sony and choose another Cybershot U. It may have its limitations but it was perfect for the need we had.

Sony DSCU20 Cyber-shot 2MP Digital Camera (Silver)+B2 Features

  • 2.0 megapixel CCD sensor captures images up to 1,600 x 1,200 pixels for prints up to 8 x 10 inches
  • Ultracompact body, weighs just 4 ounces
  • Includes 8 MB Memory Stick
  • Connects with PCs and Macs via USB port
  • Powered by two rechargeable NiMH AAA batteries (included)

Sony Cybershot dsc-u20 is great - J. Livingston - Vero Beach, FL
This is an incredible little camera. Have had it for about 5 years and it goes everywhere, takes awesome photos without a lot of useless confusing features. Simple, it works, shoots quickly and holds about 185 images with the memory card. Easy to pocket and take anywhere, can use regular AAA batteries in a pinch. Too bad they dont make it anymore. Sure the newer cameras have a big screen but aren't as easy to carry and manipulate and have too many confusing features.
