Nikon Coolpix S640 12.2MP Digital Camera with 5x Wide Angle Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Zoom and 2.7-inch LCD (Velour Red)

#1: Nikon Coolpix S640 12.2MP Digital Camera with 5x Wide Angle Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Zoom and 2.7-inch LCD (Velour Red) Reviews!

From January through to mid March I searched for a point and shoot with low shutter lag. I have a very fast child and all the cameras I have used until now were too slow and I was missing shots. For this feature most people referred me to a DSLR. And I am sure they are right about that being the very best option. But when I asked them if they took their camera with them they confessed having missed opportunities because their DSLR was too bulky to throw in a purse. With my limited budget (around 0) and need for portability I was persistent in looking for a point and shoot. In the tests I did there is a difference among the point and shoots and I think this one is among the best for speed. I relied heavily on a british camera review site which I highly recommend to other seekers - cameras.co.uk. This site rates many cameras according to shutter lag. I am very pleased. This camera is simple to use, quick to respond, small but solid. I have been using it daily for about a month now.

Pocket D-SLR - Digi - Houston
Extremely fast for a point and shoot camera with great picture quality it's like a pocket D-SLR. The Macro 2mm close up shots are amazing. Start up time is as advertised but, there is a little tiny delay from start up to first shot. Besides the picture quality and the speed of the camera one of the best things is the ease of use.
